Lokey Automotive Charities Presents Check for $158,500 to Habitat Pinellas!
Friday, May 11, 2012
Minutes before the start of the third annual Lokey Automotive Charities Golf Classic, President Paul Lokey presented a $158,500 oversize check to Habitat Pinellas CEO and President Barbara Inman and V.P. of Development Steve Lightburn.
The large donation was made possible through Lokey's annual "Roof Raiser" fundraiser. During the monthlong fundraiser, Lokey's Nissan and VW general manager, Jim Surrett, spent the entire month of April on the VW dealership roof to call attention to the fundraiser for Habitat, in which Lokey donated $500 for every car sold that month.
The check is in support of Lokey Automotive's sponsorship of three Habitat Pinellas homes that were built this spring in Habitat's Stevens Creek subdivision in North Clearwater. To date, two of the homes have been completed and dedicated, and the third Lokey-sponsored home, which is for the Lewis family, is near completion and will be dedicated on Saturday, June 9th at 9 a.m. (directions) All friends, family, volunteers and Habitat and Lokey supporters are welcome to attend.
All of us at Habitat Pinellas send everyone at Lokey Automotive a great big thank you for their generosity and huge hearts. Thanks to Lokey Automotive, three low income Pinellas families have realized their dreams of homeownership!

HSN Staff Volunteers Turn Out for “Executive Work Day” at Pinellas Park Habitat Build Site
Tuesday, May 8, 2012
Check out more photos in our Facebook album at facebook.com/HabitatPinellas!
HSN Cares! And so do their staffers who came out recently to help on the build site of the HSN-sponsored Habitat home in Pinellas Park. The HSN team, led by Rob Solomon, worked on several tasks such as installing cabinets, and painting interior walls and exterior trim.
The current HSN-sponsored home is located at 5514 82nd Terrace N in Pinellas Park. As a Habitat home sponsor, HSN not only helps underwrite the cost of building, but they dedicate a significant number of volunteers to help with construction.
Another designated work day is planned for May 18th, when several more staff members will come out to help with landscaping the home in preparation for the upcoming dedication. Check back soon on our "Upcoming Events" page for more details, once the dedication date has been determined.
Thank you to HSN and their amazing staff for "caring" about their Pinellas County community and for all their support of the Habitat mission!
HSN rocks!

Lokey’s T.C. Staton Presents Habitat Pinellas Homeowner with Her Keys
Tuesday, May 1, 2012
LINK: Check out more dedication photos in our Facebook album!
During a quiet morning ceremony on April 21st, T.C. Staton, Chief Operating Officer for Lokey Automotive Group, participated in the dedication of the second Lokey-sponsored Habitat home this spring, while several miles away his company was in the midst of an aggressive effort to raise $150,000 for Habitat Pinellas. Prior to presenting the family with the keys to their home, T.C. spoke to the small gathering of Habitat supporters about Lokey's commitment to serving the community and providing a hand up to those in need.
The homeowner also spoke to the gathering, thanking Lokey and all the volunteers and Habitat staff for making her dream of a stable, secure home possible come true. She summed up her appreciation reading from Scripture (Mark 10:27): "Jesus looked at them and said, with man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
The first of three Lokey-sponsored homes was built during the Habitat PInellas' "Blitz Build" event in February, and the third home will be completed in the next few weeks, with a dedication following shortly after. Please check back with the "Upcoming Events" listing on our website soon for more details.
THANK YOU LOKEY! Many, many thanks to the Lokey family and everyone at Lokey Automotive Group for sponsoring three of our Habitat Pinellas homes and to all of the Lokey staff members who volunteered at our construction sites over the past several months. And a very special thanks to big-hearted Lokey GM Jim Surrett who endured 30 days on the roof of the VW dealership to spotlight Lokey's efforts to raise $150,000 for Habitat Pinellas!

Lokey Ends its “Roof Raiser” Achieving $150,000 Goal for Habitat Pinellas!
Monday, April 30, 2012
At the stroke of midnight, Lokey Automotive GM Jim Surrett came back to "earth" after spending the entire month of April on the roof of the VW dealership during the Lokey "Roof Raiser" fundraiser for Habitat Pinellas.
Lokey Automotive Charities set and met a goal of $150,000 to help Habitat Pinellas build three homes for struggling families in our community. During the month while Jim lived on the roof, Lokey donated $500 for every car it sold in April. The entire staff at Lokey has been tremendously supportive of the fundraising effort and many of them have been out volunteering on the Habitat home construction sites.
A HUGE thanks to our friends at Lokey! And a very special thanks to Jim who toughed it out through blistering sun, unseasonably warm days and a couple of fierce thunderstorms during his sojourn in the sky! You are awesome.
