Bauford and Jones Homes Dedication Includes Celebration of World Habitat Day!

Bauford and Jones Family Home Dedications for Habitat Pinellas' celebration of World Habitat Day. Link: See more pics in our online Picasa album!

The Bauford and Jones families received the keys to their homes during a morning dedication that included a special pledge to support the work of Habitat for Humanity around the globe.

Former Habitat Pinellas Board Member Norm Bungard opened with a prayer and a brief hearffelt discussion of the impact Habitat has on a community. Affectionately called "Mr. Habitat," Norm also showed the crowd one of his most prized possessions, a plank of wood signed by President Jimmy Carter.

Many thanks to all of our Habitat volunteers who helped build these two homes, and to those who helped lay the sod and plant the bushes on Saturday to ready the homes for today's dedication.

Congratulations to the Bauford and Jones families who have worked so hard to make their dreams of homeownership come true!
