Habitat Pinellas Connection to University of Minnesota Habitat Campus Chapter of the Year!

We get only the best!

The Habitat chapter at the University of Minnesota was recently named the Chapter of the Year.  The student chapter received the "Habitat Campus Chapter of the Year" award for its volunteer work building homes with Habitat affiliates and for its advocacy, fundraising and education.

Students from this chapter volunteered for Habitat Pinellas last spring during our "Collegiate Challenge Build."  The Minnesota chapter also partnered with Twin Cities Habitat where they raised $50,000, and compiled 3,000 volunteer hours - more than 60 student groups. Their members also constructed 210 paper houses out of letters that asked legislators to support a bonding bill for affordable housing.  A house was delivered to each legislator at the Minnesota Capitol. With their efforts, the bill passed.
