This week Habitat Pinellas welcomes 20 "Collegiate Challenge" student volunteers to two of its build sites in St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park!
Early Monday morning, University of Minnesota students were hard at work erecting the trusses on the Drake family home in Pinellas Park. A few miles south in St. Pete, Indiana University volunteers were on the roof of the McDaniel family home laying black tar paper in preparation for the shingles.
The student volunteers will be working on the build sites all week long as part of Habitat Pinellas' "Collegiate Challenge" program. The McDaniel home is sponsored by Catalina Marketing Charitable Foundation and the Drake home is sponsored by HSN Cares.
In addition to the University of Minnesota and Indiana University volunteers, six other university groups will participate over a six week period between February 27th and April 6th including Georgetown, MIT, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, University of Maryland at College Park, University of Michigan and Widener University.
Many thanks to our corporate home sponsors and to all of our visiting student volunteers!
