WORLD HABITAT DAY is Monday, October 1st!

Friday, September 28, 2012

In observance of World Habitat Day, Habitat for Humanity is hosting hundreds of global events to take action and help raise awareness of the issue of substandard and poverty housing around the world. Join Habitat Pinellas as we mark the day with a double home dedication for the Bauford and Jones families.

In addition to presenting the Bauford and Jones families with keys to their new homes, Habitat PInellas will ask supporters attending Monday morning's dedications to sign our symbolic pledge to help eliminate substandard and poverty housing in our own Pinellas community.

Please join us as we observe World Habitat Day and celebrate with the Bauford and Jones families:

WORLD HABITAT DAY HOME DEDICATIONS
for the Bauford and Jones family homes

Monday, October 1, 2012, 9:00 a.m.
1829 and 1839 28th Avenue N., St. Petersburg  (directions)

World Habitat Day was established by the United Nations in 1985 to spotlight the need for adequate shelter worldwide. Every year on the first Monday in October, Habitat affiliates worldwide raise their collective voice to take action and engage partners in solutions. We encourage all of our supporters to go online and sign Habitat International's  "Pledge to End Poverty Housing," a virtual petition to call on key decision-makers to commit to recognizing the role of housing in communities, making affordable, adequate housing a priority and changing the systems and policies that lead to poverty housing.
