Mission Statement
Putting faith into action, Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County promotes family stability by providing innovative and affordable housing solutions to qualified individuals and families. In partnership with our community, we work toward our ultimate goal of eliminating substandard housing throughout the county.

Habitat Pinellas Looking Back
 
2010 (October) -HfHPC dedicates its 200th home!
 
2010 (April) - Shady Grove, HfHPC's first building in our first multi-family development, is dedicated as the Piard and DeCamp families get their keys and the Showcase Home is opened for visitors. On this day another milestone is reached: 500 children living in Habitat Pinellas homes.
 
2010 (January) - 25th Birthday Blitz: Celebrating 25 years in Pinellas County, 700 volunteers came together to build two homes in one week.
 
2010 -  Charity Navigator has awarded Habitat Pinellas its fourth consecutive 4-star rating! Only 9% of the charities rated have received at least 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America.
 
2009 - HfHPC named third best in Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Ultimate Management Teams.
 
2009 - Operation REhabitat: In reaction to shifts in the real estate market, HfHPC focuses efforts on rehabbing distressed mortgage properties.
 
2009 - SuperBuild at Super Bowl XLIII: After a weeklong, two-home blitz build, HfHPC teams with Hillsborough Habitat to build a home in a box on Super Bowl Sunday, which is awarded to the Pittsburgh Habitat affiliate when the Steelers win the game.
 
2008 (November) - HfHPC’s 1st Energy Star Certified home is also the 100th house built in St. Petersburg. The home is dedicated for the Ivey family, celebrating HfHPC’s partnership with the city.
 
2008 (February) - Clearwater property called Homer Villas is purchased. Plans for the future development, called Stevens Creek, hint at more than 50 homes to be built.
 
2008 (May) - ReStore proceeds fund a home for the Holliday family.
 
2007 - Women Build: More than 400 new volunteers grab hammers to join an all-woman crew to build with the Yauch family.
 
2007 - HfHPC earns a Charity Navigator Four-Star Rating|
 
2006 (June) - Largest piece of land is purchased, Highlander Village in Dunedin. With much excitement, plans begin to form for HfHPC’s first multi-family development, Shady Grove.
 
2006 - HfHPC earns the Bank of America Neighborhood Builder Award.
 
2006 (November) - Name is changed to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County (HfHPC).
 
2006 (June) - Builder’s Blitz: Professional building teams complete a Habitat Pinellas home in 5 days, the fastest home built until this point and one of 440 Habitat homes built across the U.S.
 
2004 (December) - ReStore, our home improvement outlet, opens its doors.
 
2004 - The 1st homeowner, Jane Dunaway, pays off and burns her mortgage, vowing to continue volunteering and helping others to realize dreams of home ownership.
 
2003 (February) - 100th house in Pinellas County is dedicated for a family in St. Petersburg.
 
1990 (September) - 15th home dedicated, the 1st outside St. Petersburg in Clearwater. Builds in Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs and Pinellas Park follow.
 
1985 (July 29) - 1st home is completed for Jane Dunaway and her family. Incidentally, Jane was required to put in 1,000 hours of sweat equity.
 
1985 (March) - Break ground on our 1st home.
 
1985 (January) - Pinellas County Habitat for Humanity officially recognized as an HfHI affiliate.
 
1984 (September) - Pinellas County Habitat for Humanity is conceptualized at a meeting of the St Petersburg Ministerial Association by the late Rev. Bob Gemmer, a member of HfHI. Reverend James Schwarzlose of the First Congregational Church of St Petersburg is named the first Executive Director.
 
1976 - With a vision of a world with no more shacks, Millard and Linda Fuller start Habitat for Humanity International (HfHI) in Americus, Georgia.

We’ve Built 235 Habitat Pinellas Homes for 600 Children and Funded 223 Homes Overseas.
